Minority students get 2% admission quota

Christian, Sikh, Bahai, Hindu, and other religious minority students will be entitled to a 2 % admission quota in 27 public sector universities across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A formal notification was issued by the Higher Education, Archives, and Libraries Department that stated that a two percent quota policy for minority students will soon be adopted in the public sector universities with the exception of engineering and medical.

After 13 years of strenuous efforts, the minority students have welcomed the much-awaited move and the activists and students hope that the quote will further be increased considerably in the future as this was not sufficient for a city like Peshawar.

It is pertinent to mention that other than this latest development in the minority quota, previously there was a two percent employment quota too.
