Islamabad: The cost of the Bhara Kahu Bypass has increased by over 1.5 billion after the additional expansions in the project.

According to the details, CDA officials have stated that the project cost has been increased from approved 6.5 billion to 8 billion rupees due to other necessary components that were added later in the construction plan.

It is further stated that the project’s contractors are the National Logistics Cell – NLC. They have demanded 1.8 more payment than the approved budget from the Capital Development Authority as extra work has been done under the direction of the civic body.

In response, the relevant authority has forwarded the bill to a consultant for third-party validation. After the Punjab government’s consultant firm endorsed the extra work, they gave a recommendation for the approval of 1.5 billion pkr.
