Punjab CM Initiates Online Property Transfer for Expats
Lahore: Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz launches property transfer service for overseas Pakistanis to prevent fraud.
An Online property transfer facility for overseas Pakistanis will offer them services like personalization, mutation, e-filing, and registration,” she stated in a meeting. During the meeting, the chief minister discussed the ongoing reforms in the Board of Revenue (BoR) and matters related to the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA). He instructed the relevant authorities to immediately provide reliable online services to overseas Pakistanis residing in the US, UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Gulf, and other countries.
Moreover, the Chief Minister was informed that the online land record project will be launched in 10 districts. This project will make available the land record of 5,798 villages online by December 2024. The land record of 50 cooperative housing societies will also be accessible through digital transfer under the PLRA. People will be able to access the data of these societies conveniently through the online platform.
The Chief Minister was also briefed about the immediate action to reclaim 2,000 acres of government-owned land from various housing societies. Furthermore, it was clear that a whopping 811,044 hectares of government land would be allocated solely for corporate farming. A well-prepared business plan for managing state-owned land was also presented to the Chief Minister, and it is expected to be implemented without any further delay.
