Land Acquisition of 300 MW Balakot power project begins
The district administration has carried out acquiring over 8,000 kanals of land for the 300 megawatts Balakot hydropower project.
The project was given a green signal by the provincial government in March and $750 million were approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council.
“Land acquisition is being made for the energy project executed by the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization on the Kunhar River Kaghan valley,” Dr. Qasim Ali Khan spoke to the media.
Imposition of Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 and other formalities was being completed to pay the payments to the owners, stated the deputy commissioner, who is also the district collector.
