IWMB to restore illegally-occupied land in Margalla Hills National Park

The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) in coordination with the Capital Development Authority would prepare a plan to restore the forest land of the Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) that has been illegally grabbed in the name of the housing society.

A day earlier, the Islamabad High Court directed the Capital Development Authority and Islamabad Wildlife Management Board to remove all illegal encroachments at Margalla Hills land.

As reported by the officials of IWMB, a survey would be launched to identify the locations where the land of the national park has been illegally used in the last many years.
In this regard, the Interior Minister has extended his full support and cooperation to take action against those people who are involved in the illegal practice.

The management of IWMB was instructed by the climate change ministry to ensure proper demarcation of the boundaries of the national park.
