Federal cabinet deters construction of multi-story building in Nowshera
The federal cabinet delayed the construction case of a multi-story building on railways’ land in Nowshera.
Earlier, the ministry of railways had demonstrated a summary pertaining to the decision taken in the cabinet meetings regarding the construction of a multi-story building on Railways’ land in Nowshera.
Under the supervision of Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood, the cabinet had constituted a four-member committee to examine the issue in detail and come up with recommendations for consideration of the cabinet in two weeks.
The ministry of railways stated that there is a need to incorporate the views of the minister for railways being a member of the committee in the report.
He stated that the ultimate owner of the land is the federal government and that the committee is not an appropriate forum to decide ownership.
The ministry also recognized in the meeting that the cantonment board has been designated by the government to oversee military lands and that they can regulate its use within the jurisdiction according to the parameters of the laws and rules. Therefore, there is a need for NOC from the respective cantonment board for any construction in the cantonment area.
