CDA Moves Forward in Expanding into New Sectors
In anticipation of introducing four upcoming residential schemes, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been diligently working on finalizing the layout plans (LOPs) for these sectors.
As per insider information, the sectors in question are D-13, E-13, F-13, and the housing scheme in Kuri. These sectors are being developed based on comprehensive topographic surveys.
Waseem Hayat Bajwa, Member Planning of the CDA, confirmed the ongoing efforts and emphasized that the CDA is actively finalizing the LOPs for these sectors. He explained that while previous versions of the LOPs existed, they lacked the necessary topographic survey data.
Regarding the Kuri housing scheme, Bajwa disclosed that the CDA will engage a consultant to expedite the finalization of the LOP within one month. He also mentioned that these four sectors collectively comprise more than 25,000 plots.
Speaking specifically about the Kuri housing project, Bajwa revealed that the CDA has acquired 20,000 kanal of land in Kuri, which had remained vacant for many years. However, a dispute regarding 8,000 kanal of the land has arisen between locals and the CDA. To address this issue, the CDA plans to prepare the LOP initially for the remaining 12,000 kanal, excluding the disputed land.
CDA officials have emphasized that the progress of construction in the four residential sectors is contingent upon resolving land-related challenges. The entire project spans an area of 3,200 acres, with each sector covering 750 acres.
While the CDA has partially acquired the land for the Park Enclave development, a significant portion remains under “adverse possession.” The three sectors mentioned earlier (D-13, E-13, and F-13) were acquired by the CDA in 2008, with partial allotments already made in D-13 and E-13.
Furthermore, the current chairman of the CDA has instructed the organization to address pending issues that have impeded the development of these sectors.
Despite past announcements falling through, officials maintain an optimistic outlook that finalizing the LOPs for all four sectors will pave the way for the commencement of construction.
