Rawalpindi Portion Of Peshawar Road - From Koral Chowk To Motorway Chowk To Be Signal Free

Divisional Commissioner has said a proposal has been drafted to make the Rawalpindi portion of Peshawar Road signal free from Koral Chowk to Motorway Chowk. The project will be included in the Annual Development Programme 2022-23. The meeting was attended by the director of all the development and planning officers that are concerned with the Punjab Highway Department.

The project is said to have a cost of Rs.10 billion and the construction of 1 flyover along with four underpasses are also included in it. The master plan and the design of this huge project have been already prepared and the result of this project will reduce the travel time between the Koral Chowk and Motorway Chowk which was one hour before but will be 10 minutes.

The proposal is yet to be approved, and it will immensely help in resolving the traffic issue in the city. The project was proposed in the public interest as Peshawar Road is heavily congested with traffic and it causes problems for a large number of people.
