KP approves action plan for Industrial Policy execution

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has endorsed an action plan for the implementation of Industrial Policy 2020 in a bid to the revival of sick and closed industries.

Under the program, various steps have been proposed for the betterment of sick and closed industries in the province. The Industrial Policy 2020 includes 10 economic zones that would be established in 10 years, two special economic zones (SEZs) in the upcoming five years, and 19 small industrial estates across the province.

The small industrial estates at Abbottabad, Bannu, Dara Adam Khel, Dera Ismail Khan, Shakas, and Mardan would be proclaimed as special economic zones.
