Pakistan sees rise in export to Italy

Pakistan’s exports to Italy have recorded a 49-percent increase on a yearly basis to $786 million in the outgoing fiscal year 2020-21.

Jauhar Saleem, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Italy, stated that despite the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic had badly hit the Italian market, Pakistan posted a trade surplus of $300 million that is 49pc greater than the previous year’s figure.

On a per-capita basis, Italy was the 4th when it comes to deaths in the world. Italian GDP fell as low as 9.6pc in 2020, which comes as the highest fall since World War II.

Marking an achievement, Saleem maintained that Pakistan has not only regained from the pandemic-led export challenges but also registered dramatic growth during the period under review.
