CDA Sets New Deadline for Margalla Avenue-E11 Road Project
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a new deadline of October 30 for the Margalla Avenue-E11 Road Project, which aims to connect Margalla Avenue with sector E-11. This announcement comes after previous extensions due to various challenges.
Initially started in December 2022 with an estimated value of Rs. 4 billion, the 5.5km road project was planned to be completed by June 20, 2023. However, complexities in utility service relocation, tree management, land possession issues, and adverse weather conditions led to deadline extensions.
CDA officials express confidence in overcoming these challenges and meeting the revised deadline. The road project, contracted to the National Logistics Cell (NLC) last year for Rs. 3,983 million, is crucial for addressing potential traffic congestion and enhancing connectivity in the area.
CDA’s decision to extend the deadline aligns with standard practices in significant construction projects to ensure high-quality results. The authority remains optimistic about the road’s completion by the end of October, bringing relief to commuters and residents alike.
