3.79 Lac COVID19 Cases, 3,645 deaths as India fights the virus

The distressing scenes coming from India have shaken the world, as the Corona Virus cases surge in India leading to a critical situation due to shortage of Oxygen and space in hospitals.

The neighboring country has reached 200,000 coronavirus deaths, with the pressure on hospitals and emergency units showing no sign of abating.

The situation has reached such an extent that the crematoriums have run out of space and funerals are taking place in car parks and open spaces.

Not just big cities but the same news is coming in from small towns too, “no space in hospitals.”

On the other side, nations across the globe have stepped up to offer humanitarian aid to battle against the coronavirus crisis. The countries that offered help include China, UAE, Singapore, Russia, Pakistan, Saudia Arabia, United Kingdom, The European Union, France, Germany, United States, and Australia.

It is relevant to mention that as a gesture of solidarity with the people of India in the wake of the second wave of Covid-29, Pakistan on April 24th offered to provide relief support to India including ventilators, Bi-PAP, digital X-ray machines, PPEs, and related items.

Furthermore, in a letter to Modi, Faisal Edhi, the son of Philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and managing trustee of Edhi Foundation sympathized with India during this difficult time and offered help in the form of “a fleet of 50 ambulances along with services to assist them.

However, it has not been accepted by the government of India.
