Punjab government initiates property tax survey to reassess properties in Multan
Under the directives of the Punjab government, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department has initiated an extensive survey concerning property tax across the province, which encompasses Multan as well.
Sources indicate that the primary goal of this undertaking is to reevaluate the value of various property types, including residential, luxury, and commercial properties. To streamline the survey procedure, property tax forms are currently being disseminated to all proprietors of property units.
These taxpayers are obligated to furnish comprehensive property details to the designated officer at their respective excise offices within a span of 15 days subsequent to receiving the aforementioned forms. Iftikhar Ahmad Bhali, the Director of Excise, conveyed to the media that the preceding property tax survey was conducted in 2014.
As per the timeline established by the Punjab government, the process of allotting distinctive identification numbers to each property unit is slated to initiate on August 17. Moreover, it is anticipated that this identification process will be concluded within a span of 60 days.
