CDA Will Conduct Fire Safety Audit Of High-Rise Buildings After The Centaurus Mall Fire

A popular mall in Islamabad, Centaurus was caught on fire on Sunday 9th of October. The fire was contained without any casualties and it was also sealed off for more examination.

A meeting was held by CDA Chairman Captain Muhammad Usman Younis on Monday with the purpose to conduct a post-fire stability examination of all the high-rises in Islamabad. In the meeting, it was decided that this step will be also performed on all structures that are taller than 50 feet and they would be subjected to a fire audit. 

Moreover, during the meeting, it was concluded that all those high-rise buildings would also be tested for real-time mock exercises for further examination. During the meeting, the CDA chairman also declared to provide certifications to the staff of Rescue 1122 for actively participating in the firefighting tasks.
