AIIB Broadens Assistance For Improve Initiatives
President Jin Liqun of the Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) has pledged the bank’s complete backing and assistance to Pakistan for development projects and investment.
The announcement was made over a virtual meeting among Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and the AIIB president as a component of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) and World Bank’s Spring meetings in 2023.
Aisha Ghaus Pasha, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue, Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Finance, Tariq Mehmood Pasha, and Special Secretary Finance attended the meeting virtually from Islamabad. The meeting had been attended in person by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Ahmad Khan, State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jamil Ahmad, the finance secretary, and the Economic Affairs Division secretary.
According to a statement released by the ministry of finance on Saturday, Dar discussed the nation’s current financial situation and informed Liqun about the government’s economic policies and improvements for long-term economic growth.
The finance minister expressed gratitude to the AIIB president for his unwavering support for Pakistan’s long-term economic development.
