Senate Committee Calls for Prompt Completion of FGEHA Housing Projects - ahgroup-pk

Islamabad: The Standing Committee on Housing and Construction has instructed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to expedite the completion of housing projects for government employees.

In a committee meeting, the Director General of FGEHA explained that four projects initiated in 2020 faced delays due to a significant surge in material costs. Despite Chaklala Heights Apartments having a 34% booking, construction had to halt. The DG emphasized that new contracts would be awarded based on the current rates.

Senator Afnanullah Khan showed concern over the project’s delayed commencement, noting the committee’s prior assurances about its timely initiation. The committee chair directed FGEHA representatives to consult with Senators Saifullah and Fida Muhammad to swiftly tackle the issue’s complexities, with a total investment of PKR 258 million until now.
