CPPA-G Maps Out Five Power Price Scenarios for 2026
The Central Power Purchasing Agency–Guaranteed (CPPA-G) has proposed five scenarios for the 2026 Power Purchase Price (PPP), ranging from Rs 25.69 to Rs 26.53 per unit, based on variations in demand, fuel prices, hydrology, and exchange rates. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) will hold a public hearing on November 18 to review the petition. Scenario assumptions include exchange rates between Rs 280–330 per USD and demand growth of 1–2.5%. The projections, developed after stakeholder consultations, are indicative and subject to changes in key economic and operational factors.
