Pakistan Receives 23 Bids in First Offshore Exploration Round in 20 Years
Pakistan has received 23 bids for offshore oil and gas exploration after 20 years, showing strong investor confidence. The bids cover over 53,000 square kilometers, with an initial investment of $80 million that could rise to $1 billion during drilling. Both local and international companies, including Turkish Petroleum and Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), are involved. The government has introduced new rules and agreements to ensure transparency and attract investors. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the interest and promised full support for the projects.
