New archeological sites appear in ICT
The department of archaeology and Museums has been up to some exciting work. Over the past five years, they have managed to discover 38 archeological sites spread across the region. A source at the department told news outlets that a team of archaeologists had been working extremely hard at discovering these sites and more has been added recently.
Islamabad is often criticized for its mundane history and heritage. Residents of this region are left exploring places that do not offer deeper meaning in terms of their preservation of traditional lifestyles and values.
With archaeological sites such as Ban Faqiran Stupa, Mai Qamru Mosque, Tomb of Sultan Makrab Khan, Farwala Fort, Rawat Fort and Shahullah Ditta Cave, the people of ICT can expect to feel engaged and enlightened through exploring the city’s ancient underpinnings.
